About Me: Mikela Winston
Founder, Editor, and Publisher of Our Voices In Print
I am more than a publisher—I am a story midwife, a survivor, and a space maker. I founded Our Voices In Print to give women, especially those who have endured trauma, a safe and sacred platform to reclaim their voices and rewrite their narratives. My mission is deeply personal. Born from my own journey of pain, survival, and transformation, I understand what it means to be silenced—and I know the power of breaking free.
With each magazine issue, writing toolkit, virtual conference, and community workshop, I help women turn their stories into legacies. I don’t just offer publishing services. I offer healing spaces, creative guidance, and unapologetic affirmation. My work centers Black women and trauma survivors, because I believe our truths deserve to be published, celebrated, and archived.
Whether I’m speaking on stage, teaching a writing seminar, or sitting with a woman one-on-one, my message remains the same: You are worthy. Your story is powerful. And you don’t have to wait for permission to tell it.
What Makes Me Unique
I Turn Pain Into Purpose — And Purpose Into Print
My publishing journey is rooted in lived experience. I help women channel their pain into storytelling and create something lasting from their healing.
I Am a Story Midwife
I guide women through the emotional and creative birth of their narratives, providing support, structure, and space to fully honor their truth.
I Center Black Women's Healing in Publishing
I built a platform where our stories are not only welcomed, but centered, respected, and preserved.
I Build Platforms, Not Just Products
Our Voices In Print is more than a magazine—it’s a publishing house, a resource hub, a speaker platform, and a community rooted in healing.
I Make Healing and Publishing Accessible
Through low-cost publishing options, free writing tools, and guided opportunities, I make sure that women who need a voice can access the tools to speak and publish.
Let’s Work Together If you’re a woman ready to turn your story into impact—through writing, speaking, or healing work—I would be honored to guide you. Let’s tell your truth, your way. You’ve survived enough. Now, it’s time to be seen.

Turning Pain to Purpose
Premier Issue
Every story has a beginning. Ours begins with the simple but powerful truth that voices heal — not just those who speak, but those who listen.
In the March 2025 issue of Our Voices In Print, we open the door to stories born from resilience, shaped by courage, and written with the kind of honesty that changes lives. Here, women who have faced heartbreak, hardship, and healing share the lessons they fought to learn — turning personal pain into a collective source of purpose and power.
Within these pages, you’ll find reflections of your own strength, reminders that you are not alone, and practical inspiration if you're ready to put your own story into the world. This isn't just a magazine — it's a movement, a mirror, and a gathering place for every woman who has ever wondered if her voice matters. (It does.)
